Organic Ground Turmeric
Turmeric is the ground root of the Curcuma Longa plant, a herbaceous perennial belonging to the ginger family. It has been used for thousands of years throughout the Orient where it has been recognised for its amazing properties and is even used as a component in religious ceremonies. Because of its brilliant yellow colour, turmeric is also known as “Indian saffron”. Recently it has gained popularity as science is proving what amazing health benefits it possesses.
Organic Ground Cinnamon
There are two types of cinnamon, one from Sri Lanka (previously Ceylon) and one from India. We use is Ceylon Cinnamon as it’s considered superior in taste and has a higher level of beneficial properties. Cinnamon contains beta-carotene, which can be converted into Vitamin A in the body, and its active ingredient, cinnamaldehyde, has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
Organic Ground Black Pepper
Black pepper is one of the most widely used spices in the world, and has been referred to as ‘The King of Spices’. It has been used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine for centuries due to its high concentration of potent beneficial plant compounds. We add a little black pepper to our recipe as it ‘activates’ the turmeric, making it up to 2000% (yes, 2000%!) more bioavailable to the body. Without this little pinch of pepper, most of the benefits of turmeric are lost.
Organic Raw Crystallised Coconut Nectar
This latte is sweetened with unrefined coconut nectar. This unique sugar alternative is made from the sweet nectar of coconut blossom and is becoming a popular healthy alternative. It has a rich nutritional content and a lower GI than refined white sugar.
