Description
Our spicy and warming Gingerbread Latte blend combines the wonderful spices of ginger, cinnamon and all spice with unrefined coconut nectar and Maca, to create a delicious alternative latte.
Ginger has been used for thousands of years as a spice and herbal medicine and is believed to help relieve nausea and vomiting and aid digestion. It contains high levels of antioxidants and other nutrients which may help prevent or treat arthritis, inflammation, and various types of infection.
Also known as Peruvian ginseng or Lepidium meyenii, Maca is a potent superfood that grows in the Andes mountains. It can be found for sale in the local markets today and is recognised for its natural energy-boosting properties and potential ability to ease menopausal symptoms.
This Barista Blend is designed to be made with your choice of hot milk as a latte or cold milk as a frappe. Either dairy or non-dairy milk work well.
Organic Ground Ginger
Ginger contains many anti-inflammatory and anti-nausea properties. It has been used for many years as a remedy to settle an upset stomach, to help with morning sickness and as a digestive aid after eating as it encourages efficient digestion.
Organic Maca
Maca is a plant that grows on the high plateaus of the Andes Mountains and has been cultivated as a root vegetable for at least 3000 years. Also called Ginseng Andin or Peruvian Ginseng, it is a relative of radish and smells similar to butterscotch.
Organic Lucuma
The pulp of the raw lucuma fruit has a subtly sweet flavor and tastes like butterscotch and sweet potato with undertones of maple syrup or caramel.  It is an excellent source of fiber, containing good carbohydrates and plenty of antioxidants.
Organic Ground Cinnamon
There are two types of cinnamon, one from Sri Lanka (previously Ceylon) and one from India. We use is Ceylon Cinnamon as it’s considered superior in taste and has a higher level of beneficial properties. Cinnamon contains beta-carotene, which can be converted into Vitamin A in the body, and its active ingredient, cinnamaldehyde, has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
Organic All Spice
The name might suggest it is a blend, but allspice is a single spice made from dried berries of the allspice tree which look like peppercorns. The allspice tree is native to Jamaica, and is also known as Jamaica pepper and new spice. The flavor of allspice is  reminiscent of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and pepper.
Organic Raw Crystallised Coconut Nectar
We’ve used raw, unrefined coconut nectar as the sweetener in our lattes. This unique sugar alternative is made from the nectar of the coconut blossom and has a lower GI than regular refined white sugar and it also has a rich nutritional content.
