Description

Synonymous with autumn, a pumpkin spice latte has associations with cosying up with a comforting hot drink when the weather turns colder.  It’s time to smell the spices and feel the warmth!

Pumpkins have been grown since around 3500 BC, making them one of the oldest known crops in the western hemisphere. They are loaded with nutrients that can boost your immune system and are high in antioxidants.

Lion’s Mane mushrooms have been used in traditional medicine for centuries and are believed to have serious health benefits, with studies showing affects in the enhancement of cognition and brain function.

This latte mix combines pumpkin with cinnamon, ginger, black pepper and Lion’s Mane mushroom, together with some unrefined coconut nectar, to create a delicious alternative latte.

Our Barista Blends are designed to be added to hot milk, either dairy or non-dairy.

Pumpkin juice powder

The use of the word “pumpkin” is thought to have originated in New England in North America, derived from a word for melon, or a native word for ’round’.  Pumpkins are nutritional powerhouses rich in fibre, vitamins, and minerals, which help strengthen our immune systems and support healthy vision.

Organic Ceylon cinnamon

There are two types of cinnamon, one from Sri Lanka (previously Ceylon) and one from India.  We use Ceylon Cinnamon as it’s considered superior in taste and has a higher level of beneficial properties.  Cinnamon contains beta-carotene, which can be converted into Vitamin A in the body, and its active ingredient, cinnamaldehyde, is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties.

Organic Lion’s Mane

Lion’s mane mushrooms have been used in traditional medicine for centuries and are known as adaptogens helping the body deal with stress.  They have been used to protect against dementia, relieve symptoms of depression, promote faster nerve cell recovery, reduce inflammation, and support the immune system.

Organic ground ginger

Ginger contains many anti-inflammatory and anti-nausea properties.  It has been used for many years as a remedy to settle an upset stomach, to help with morning sickness and as a digestive aid after eating as it encourages efficient digestion.

Organic black pepper

Black pepper is one of the most widely used spices in the world, and has been referred to as ‘The King of Spices’.  It has been used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine for centuries due to its high concentration of potent beneficial plant compounds.

Organic raw crystallised coconut nectar

This latte is sweetened with unrefined coconut nectar. This unique sugar alternative is made from the nectar of coconut blossom and is now a popular healthy alternative sugar.  It has a rich nutritional content and a lower GI than refined white sugar.

Are pumpkin spice lattes healthy?

The spices in a Pumpkin Spice Latte have potential health benefits.  However, there are a variety of recipes on the market and it’s important to check the ingredients to ensure you’re buying a quality product.

Why is pumpkin spice flavor so popular?

The beginning of autumn usually signifies the beginning of activities such as kids going back to school, football games, trick-or-treating, bonfires, and pumpkin patches. All of these popular autumnal pastimes are a source of great memories for many people, and pumpkin flavouring is very connected to these.
