Our Blue Chai Latte is our take on a traditional chai tea. This latte combines the amazing spices of cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, cloves, cardamom and orange peel. We’ve also added a little Blue Spirulina for a boost of super goodness.
Blue Spirulina is an extract from the more common blue-green algae, which is known as spirulina and has a deep green colour and a distinctive taste. A compound called Phycocyanin is extracted, which is a light-harvesting, pigment-binding protein with an amazing bright blue colour. This compound has been shown to have antioxidant qualities along with a host of other benefits – plus it has a much milder taste.
Our Blue Chai Latte mix combines chai spices with Blue Spirulina with unrefined coconut nectar, to create a delicious alternative latte with an amazing blue hue.
Our Barista Blends are designed to be added to hot or cold milk, either dairy or non-dairy.
Organic Chai Spices (cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, cloves, cardamom, orange peel)
Spices have a rich and colourful history. Spices have been known to have been traded from as early as 3000 BC, with Kerala in India establishing itself as a major spice trade centre. The spice route from Asia to Europe was established in the 15th century, with spices such as black pepper, cumin, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg being traded. These spices are now commonplace on kitchen shelves around the world and have been found to have numerous health-promoting properties.
Blue spirulina is a natural extract derived from certain species of blue-green algae and doesn’t have the strong taste of green spirulina. Blue spirulina contains a powerful antioxidant pigment called phycocyanin, which is responsible for its distinct blue hue. It offers numerous potential health benefits, such as anti-inflammatory properties, antioxidant support and immune system enhancement.
Organic Raw Crystallised Coconut Nectar
We use raw, unrefined coconut nectar as the sweetener in our lattes. This unique sugar alternative is made from the nectar of the coconut blossom and has a lower GI than regular refined white sugar. It also has a rich nutritional content.

Is there caffeine in a chai latte?
Chai lattes traditionally include black tea, so they contain caffeine. However, our recipe doesn’t use any black tea so is caffeine-free.
Is chai latte sweetened?
Typically chai lattes contain a lot of refined sugar! Our recipes use only unrefined organic coconut nectar, which has a much lower GI and contains far more nutrients than refined white sugar.
Can I make chai latte at home?
Absolutely. Add a teaspoon of chai mix to a mug, mix with a little hot water and top up with you choice of hot milk. You can also make a delicious frappe or ice-latte by adding the powder and a glass of milk to a blender and giving it a whizz.
